HBCU Greatness is a 501c3 non-profit organization serving as a community bridge for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), their students, graduates and alumni associations to access funding, training, partnership, and exposure with corporate and institutional donors. Our organization seeks to highlight excellence in HBCU student achievement, alumni development and growth opportunities for area professionals and recent graduates.
We highlight the value and benefit of matriculation at HBCU’s offering a dynamic balance of innovative curriculum, well rounded campus life, and extensive opportunities for cultural expression and identity in safe and familiar places. In addition to this, we teach, support and generate interest for entrepreneurship and business curriculums for HBCU prospective/current students and recent graduates with a primary mission to support Black excellence and HBCU matriculation to defeat the wealth gap.
Once upon a time, folks pondered, “if HBCU’s were still relevant”, since PWI’s (White Intuitions) often encouraged by affirmative action statues, have opened their doors to accepting more students of color, offering more financial aid to attend. Our research has shown that while PWI’s will always offer more money to attract smarter students of color, these efforts are neither comprehensive for all student types, nor do they accommodate average students not playing college sports.
